Hey there, I’m Kelly and I’m the owner and artist of Brush and Thread Studio. I’m a wife to Chase and have been married since 2010. We have two adorable, wild and crazy boys named Gavin and Roman. If you’ve been around for a while, you may know me by my original name, Gav + Ro. I was mainly a blogger up until August of 2019 when I lost my site due to technical difficulties/user lack of knowledge. When that happened, I felt like God was telling me that the blogging, content creator chapter of my work was over and that the shop I considered a side hustle was my designed path.*
*Cut to a few months later when I start to get the itch again. I prayed about it, nothing said don’t do it, and overachieving self said go for it. So…here we are.
Most days you can find me in my at-home office painting, stitching, or just creating in general. I am mostly known for my watercolor portraits and hoop art. But I am also known to those around me as a “jane-of-all-trades”. I love crafting and creating things (read: recreating Pinterest finds) for people I love. I create pretty and fun pieces that are perfect for your favorite gallery wall, shower gifts, or just gifts in general.
The things I am most passionate about in life are my faith, my family, and creativity. I am truly blessed to be able to work from home, doing what I love!
When I’m not busy working you can catch me reading, doing brain puzzles on my phone, and photographing/Insta-storying just about everything my kids do.
Just for funsies, here are 5 random things you might not know about me…
- I’m an enneagram 3w4.
- Unicorns are my jam.
- I was a part of the dance world for 30 years from competitive dancer, to choreographer, to teacher.
- I have a deep love for local coffee shops and cafes but will also stop at any Starbucks. My coffee love does not discriminate.
- My favorite food is food…but if you’re making me pick, nachos.
