As promised, today I’d like to share how I use my thermal printer to print out gift messages for Etsy orders. Gift orders are always fun and I love adding the customer’s sweet message. However, it usually gets stuffed into an envelope and sometimes I wonder if it gets missed or (*gasp) brown out. By using this method, I’m able to put the message prominently on the back of the packaging where you can’t miss it. I mean, you have to open the package right?!
Start with a new, blank document in whatever program you have on your computer. I have a Mac so Pages works just fine but you can also you Word, I’m sure.

Type out your message and open up the “Page Setup”. It could also be called print settings/setup.

Once you input your label printer settings, adjust your text to look the way you want it. I like mine to be centered and as big as possible without looking crazy.
After I print out my label, I like to cut it down so it’s not encompassing the back of the packaging. I cut it down to the message size so that it’s noticeable but not a giant sticker.

And that’s it! It’s a very simple and effective way to make your gift orders personal and a great way to guarantee that message gets seen.
